Productions, the parent company of Chariot Videos has been producing
award-winning educational media for and about at-risk teenagers
for over 25 years. Founder and president Victress Hitchcock
is writer and director on many of Chariot’s titles including
– Ending the Cycle of Violence,
Gangs: It’s Your Life, Hooked:
The Addiction Trap, Tragic Consequences: Teenagers and
Guns, Broken Promises, and Nowhere to Go,
a dropout prevention video. In addition, she co-produced a series
of substance-abuse prevention programs on heroin, cocaine, ecstasy,
methamphetamine and LSD.
Chariot’s video programs Violence: Inside/Out
and Alternatives to Violence were included in ACT AGAINST
VIOLENCE, a statewide violence-prevention curriculum aired by
KRMA, Colorado Public Television. Hitchcock worked with the
Colorado School Mediation Project on the video Making Things
Right: Restorative Justice for School Communities.
Hitchcock
has had numerous programs aired on Public Television including:
Song of the Open Road, a portrait of a composer living
with AIDS; Children of Wind River, a documentary for
the Ford Foundation and Wyoming Public Television and Grandfather
Sky, a short drama set on the Navajo Reservation produced
for Native American Public Television.
Hitchcock has just completed BLESSINGS:
The Tsoknyi Nangchen Nuns of Tibet, a feature-length documentary.
